Anyone who has ever owned a baseball or softball glove has dealt with this common problem at one point or another! One of the knots on your glove has come undone and you can't get it retied properly so it keeps coming undone. The industry has forever used a square knot for tying the tag ends of critical lace locations and they are simple to tie, if you know the proper steps. Here is a quick and easy step by step guide and a photo guide as well.
1) Line up your laces
2) Cross one lace over the top of the other. ( you can go left over right or right over left- it does not matter)
3) Now using the same lace go back over the top of the other lace in the opposite direction
4) Pull tight to secure the knot
It is just that simple. You have to say to yourself during the process..........."left over right, then right over left, tighten".........or you can do the exact opposite. You know you've done it correctly when your tag ends extend straight out to the sides. If they extend up and down, you did it wrong!
Knowing how to tie this simple knot can help you keep your glove in its best game ready condition.
